Hattie's passage is pretty silly.

As for skating, I'm impressed you're still out there regularly. You're probably actually good at it, unlike me. But maybe someday!

Leafstrewn is my nickname for the near suburb of Boston in which I teach.EChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14853888915441711738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4741956313845023588.post-86445137525976207332015-01-19T10:07:52.010-08:002015-01-19T10:07:52.010-08:00It is not a coincidence that it is popular -- if y...It is not a coincidence that it is popular -- if you've got the resources and a reasonably open-minded administration -- to take at risk students as a group to do a ropes course as a community-building and bonding exercise. You do it because it is SO different than academic learning. Out of all the things you can think of which seem scariest, aren't really dangerous, don't cost that much, and give you the most reliable feeling of overcoming fear and accomplishment in an afternoon, rappelling and other ropes stuff is pretty much at the top.

Also, we need to skate! I'm in Providence and hit The Edge in Taunton pretty much every Wednesday. I don't know where in Mass. Leafstrewn is. Tom Hoffmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08577165613934129833noreply@blogger.com
